SWIFT Ground Operations

The Ground Network for Swift ("GNEST") consists of the Mission Operations Center (MOC), the Swift Science and Data Centers at GSFC, RF Ground Stations, TDRSS, and Communications Networks interfacing the various elements. The Italian Space Agency's Malindi Ground Station located in Kenya, Africa is the prime ground station supporting the Swift mission. Additionally, support for the spacecraft bus and science instruments is provided from Spectrum Astro headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona and the home institutions of the science team members. Omitron Inc. provides engineering and ground support services as well as several members of the Flight Operations Team.
